Other steps to take:

  • Remain calm.
  • Take cover in the event of gunfire or assaults.
  • Answer the emergency operators questions - your answers are vital.
  • Describe the person you are watching from the top of their head to their feet.
  • If you can no longer see the involved person, tell the operator the direction of his travel.
  • For vehicles write down a license plate number, color of car, make and special features. Example; 1ABC123 - White in color - Ford pickup - broken windshield.
